Even though I didn’t want to make complicated ornaments out of our pictures, I did try my hand at one type of ornament idea that I’ve seen around.

Bright seasonal colors really pop against it, but it’s also great for pairing it up with texturey neutrals and crisp whites. This is the color that I recommend the most to friends as family as well, and I can’t say that anyone who’s used it hasn’t been absolutely thrilled by it.

This color is actually a perfect match for Martha Stewart’s Bedford Grey, which was also a great color! The bad news is that those old Martha Stewart chips are hard to come by., the even more bad news is that if you live in the US, then CIL paints aren’t available to you.

The good news though, is that you just need to use this code: Zeppelin 30YY 46/036 at whichever paint counter you may be at, and they’ll be able to mix this most perfect color for you into any kind of paint!.I’m not lying when I say I have this color almost everywhere in the house!.

In the living room!.

In the dining room! This ruffly covered cord look will definitely be too fussy for some people, but I really like the contrast between the really traditional elements (like the lamps and the button-tufted settee) and some of the more rustic farmhousy elements like my light fixture and this garage-found side table.

So it totally does the trick for me.. Want to know how to make one? It’s one project that you can have done lickety split!

Find some fabric that you like.. Iron, measure, and cut: For my two lamp cord covers, I actually made 4 little mini covers since my fabric wasn’t long enough for two giant cord covers. So I cut 4 strips of fabric.
